Markus Karalash
Known world wide as a Crocker Motorcycle expert and award winning restoration specialist, Markus Karalash has moved to the Guild of Automotive Restorers.
The Guild is pleased to be able to work with master craftsmen in any discipline but Markus’ expertise in motocycle restoration, his vast historical knowledge and his experience in the founding of the Crocker Motorcycle Company makes him a valuable asset not just for the Guild but for anyone interested in the historical and classic motorcycle.
The original Crocker motorcycle business started by Al Crocker in 1930's, created one of the fastest American production motorcycles but less than 100 Crocker motorcycles were produced before WWII changed the global market place and created material shortages that caused the business to close its doors. In 1997 Markus Karalash started The New Crocker Motorcycle Company and the company was incorporated in 1999 as a producer of replacement parts for Crocker enthusiasts worldwide. And now that expertise is here at the Guild.
Not only can we produce concourse quality restorations but can also provide partial restorations and parts fabrication for the do-it-yourselfers. Let us know what you need for your restoration project and we can manufacture the part for you. Because of their rarity and quality, Crockers are among the most expensive motorcycles a collector can own. A fully restored Crocker fetches over $200,000 USD at auctions.
The photos on the left and below are some of the motorcycles that Markus has restored. The 2007 C4 Concept and the Big Tank replica below were built using the engineering concepts of Al Crocker.
Markus brings with him not only his extensive knowledge of motorcycle restoration but also 16 years of experience as a marine mechanic and boat builder making him a natural choice to finish the restoration of the Guild’s 1927 Triple Cockpit Racing Boat. once piloted by Charles Lindbergh.
David Grainger of the Guild is pleased to be able to draw upon the talents of Markus and looks forward to a new facet of the motorcycle restoration division of the Guild. Click here for press release.
